Afrobeats star Davido promises to alert Donald Trump if the Osun State election faces rigging
Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke has threatened to involve US President Donald Trump if the upcoming Osun State governorship election is compromised. Speaking during an August 6, 2026 livestream, the singer stated he would personally contact the White House to report any electoral fraud.

Music star David Adeleke has issued a strong warning ahead of the Osun State governorship election. The singer says he will take matters to the United States if officials rig the polls.
On August 6, 2026, Davido joined a livestream hosted by content creator Carter Efe. During the session, he shared his views on Nigerian politics and the lack of clear voting systems. He noted that he would only run for office if the process becomes transparent.
Demand for transparency
The Afrobeats star expressed confidence in his political appeal but stressed his fears about ballot fixing. He believes the current system steals mandates from the people.
”Until there’s transparency, then I can go ahead with politics because nobody can beat me in any election. If there’s a free and fair election, let everybody come out to vote, I will win. But because of the system, there’s no transparency; they write the results.” Davido declared.
Turning his attention to his home state, the singer warned that he is closely watching the political space. His uncle, Ademola Adeleke, currently serves as the state governor. The pop star expects a tough contest and refuses to stay quiet.
”I want to see what they are going to do in Osun. We are waiting.” the artist noted.
Seeking White House help
The singer then made a bold claim about seeking foreign help to protect the votes. He stated he is ready to take his complaints straight to the White House.
”I’ll tag Trump, I’ll call Trump, everybody. If they still don’t see anything, I’ll go in front of the White House and say, ‘Help us.’ They think it’s a joke. Trump will just say, ‘I think there’s a Nigerian artiste sending me a message. Don’t worry, my message will be delivered.’” he said.
Davido ended his remarks with a final warning to political rivals to steer clear of his home state. He remains fully invested in ensuring the people’s votes count. Fans expect him to play a huge role in the upcoming campaigns.
”Leave Osun alone oo, Leave it.” the star shouted.
