The talent boss denies chasing the comic with insecticide and defends BWE’s role in his rise
Winnerman has responded on Instagram Story after Oluwadolarz pushed back on claims made during Carter Efe’s livestream. He denied chasing the comedian with insecticide, said BWE helped shape his path, and framed the row as a fight over respect and truth.
The row between Winnerman and Oluwadolarz keeps drawing fresh reactions online. It began after a clip from Carter Efe’s livestream resurfaced, where Winnerman spoke about helping younger acts.
“I was the first person to sign a skit maker in Nigeria. I signed Oluwadolarz in 2017, relocated him from the trenches to the Island, and also had a deal with Josh2Funny. I changed the game. I also brought Xploit Comedy from Owerri to Lagos,” Winnerman said.
Oluwadolarz then fired back in a comment that mocked the claim and pushed back hard.
“🤣🤣🤣🤣 Omo why I just dey see this? You get mind sha. This guy no get shame after everything wey my eyes see for your side. You don forget say na Raid insecticide you use pursue me and my siblings commot for your hotel? 😂 Werey. No worry, continue dey talk plenty… memory no dey pon me. We still get plenty episodes wey never air. 🤣” Oluwadolarz wrote.
Winnerman says he backed the comedian
Winnerman said he felt “genuinely disappointed” by the reply. He also said he never tried to claim Oluwadolarz’s success.
“I’ve seen Oluwadolarz’s response and I’m genuinely disappointed. When I mentioned your name on Carter Efe’s live, it was never to claim anybody’s success. It came out of passion, pride and the journey we’ve built over the years at BWE.” Winnerman wrote.
He said BWE spent years backing African talent. He also said the team gave Oluwadolarz and other creatives free access to his hotel space.
“BWE has spent years discovering and supporting African talents and we are proud of that legacy. We won’t allow anyone to jeopardize it. We brought you into our space. We believed in you, and we invested in you our time, resources, platform and corporate relationships. We gave you and other creatives a house with free access to my hotel and you became too comfortable that you turned it to your family house bringing your friends and your people for free biz. I never said a word.” Winnerman wrote.
He says the issue is respect
Winnerman said the dispute did not happen the way Oluwadolarz described it. He said he only asked him to leave the hotel and go home.
“Now you’re out here saying I chased you with insecticide? You be mosquito? 😂 Let’s be real. It was completely unnecessary and disappointing. That’s not the history between us. 🙇🏾 I only asked you to leave the hotel and go back home. I’ve heard there are more episodes and more stories coming.”
“That’s your choice. But the truth is never one sided because I have facts and witnesses who were actually there. We have nothing to hide. And please, this is not about who made who. It’s about respect, loyalty and acknowledging those who genuinely played a role in your journey. You can continue to tell your story but don’t forget the part where BWE was part of the process.” Winnerman wrote.
