On July 27, 2026, the real estate developer spoke during a media interview. He advised young Nigerians to avoid waiting for large capital before starting a business. He stressed that basic survival must always come first.
Starting from zero
Ogundele insisted he would not wait for business connections to take action. He noted that feeding himself would be his top priority.
”If I have to start from Nigeria out of zero, even at 45, you have to start from zero. Without anything! First of all, I need to raise money to eat, because you have to eat before you survive. So, I’ll start washing cars,” he said.
The interviewer asked if he would offer free services initially. The billionaire rejected the idea immediately. He stated that earning cash is the only goal.
”No, not washing for free, oh! They have to pay me, now. Because I have to earn money, I can’t wash for free,” Ogundele declared.
Scaling the business
He plans to offer premium services using high quality cleaning products. His daily target would involve washing up to 40 cars to earn about ₦40,000.
After working alone for one month, he would start hiring staff. He intends to employ up to 10 boys and share the profits equally. This expansion strategy would rapidly boost his monthly revenue.
”I’ll hire boys, two or three boys. I’ll give them 50%… hire like 10 boys. You see that at the end of the month, if I earn 40k a day, that’s 1.2 million a month,” the businessman noted.
Expanding into food sales
Ogundele built his current wealth through luxury real estate projects in Banana Island. However, his backup plan involves the lucrative food trade.
The CEO explained he would use his car wash profits to buy agricultural goods. He plans to transport fresh tomatoes and onions from Northern Nigeria. He would then sell these goods at the famous Mile 12 market.
”When I raise money, then maybe I’ll open a car wash. Then I’ll go into food business. I’ll go to the North, I’ll buy tomatoes, one truck trailer, take it to Mile 12 market, I’ll sell it off. I’ll buy albasa, I’ll buy onions, one full truck,” he added.
