Visit comes after Fayose’s complaint and a prayer video with Seyi Tinubu

Peter Obi visited businessman Isaac Fayose in Abuja on Saturday, July 18. The meeting followed Fayose’s complaint that Obi had not thanked him for backing his campaign. It also came after Fayose faced backlash over a prayer video with Seyi Tinubu and President Bola Tinubu.

On Saturday, July 18, Obi went to Fayose’s Abuja home. The visit came within 24 hours of Fayose’s outburst online.

Fayose had faced heat after he shared a video with Seyi Tinubu and others. They prayed for President Bola Tinubu, themselves and the country.

Fayose fires back at critics

Fayose said he had the right to meet anyone he chose. He also said he had backed Obi and gave up his Ibadan hotel for the campaign.

Obi shrugs off the backlash

In a video shared on Fayose’s page, Obi kept the mood light. He said many of the critics did not even follow him.

“Half of the people that abused you don’t follow us. What they do is hire people to call others all sorts of names,” Obi said.

The Abuja visit cooled the fresh row. The online debate, however, still trailed both men.
