A Nigerian traveller said officials stopped her in Doha on Sunday, July 20, 2026, while she was heading to Canada. She said they questioned her about cash, luggage and work, then sent her back to Nigeria after hotel and flight costs she did not plan for.
Her video spread fast because it mixed shock, cost and frustration. She said the stop in Doha felt like a deportation, even though she had not reached Canada.
She said airport staff asked hard questions before they blocked her onward trip. She also said she had to pay for a hotel in Doha and buy a ticket home.
What she said at the airport

“They started asking questions about how much cash we have. How many luggage we have. What I do for a living. It was so freaking crazy, and at the end of the day they told me ‘Oh, you cannot go at this time. You have to go back to your country.’ Jesus Christ.” she said.
The woman then said the trip left her shaken. She said the whole thing felt unreal once she landed back in Nigeria.
“I cannot even believe that I came back to Nigeria. Ever since I came back, nothing is even funny to me anymore,” she said.
