Gospel singer Abbey Ojomu surprised fans on July 22, 2026. She shared the strict rules of her recent courtship. Her story sparked deep interest online.

The star explained that spiritual leaders guided her relationship. She and her husband followed unusual instructions to test their bond.

“I just want to bless God. He set everything, and we didn’t get here because of feelings or emotions. It was very, very intentional,” she said.

The five-month silence

Ojomu noted that they submitted their marriage plans to their spiritual fathers. The leaders quickly issued a difficult task. This shocked many listeners at the church event.

“They told us to take like five months off speaking to each other. No phone calls, no texts, nothing, nothing, because they wanted to make sure that it wasn’t because we were close,” she recalled.

The couple faced serious challenges during this quiet period. They used a friend to check on each other.

“I remember we used to send this girl messages. I will say, ‘How is he doing?’” she joked.

The singer stated that they respected the boundary entirely. They refused to break the rules. The couple waited patiently for the elders to approve the next step.

“We… until they gave us permission, we did not move further,” she noted.

Seeking final approval

Ojomu later travelled to Jos to meet Pastor Emmanuel. The pastor wanted to hear her thoughts on the relationship.

“I had not even finished, Pastor Emmanuel Sir was like, ‘It’s okay, it’s okay, it’s okay.’ He was like, ‘I just wanted to hear what you wanted to say, we already know,’” she shared.

The entire process removed normal emotional responses. The couple trusted their spiritual guides completely. Ojomu remains glad about how things worked out.

“We just want to thank God for the journey, we were helped by God,” she declared.
