British Man Robbed After Inviting Thai Sex Workers to Hotel

A 60-year-old British man on holiday in Thailand was reportedly robbed by three sex workers after inviting them to his hotel room in Pattaya.

The man, Chris John Glennon from Northampton, is disabled and uses a wheelchair. He met the two Thai women and a transgender woman on the busy beachfront road in Pattaya and took them back to his room at the Basaya Beach Hotel and Resort.

After arriving at the hotel, Chris left the trio in the room while he went to take a shower. But when he returned, all three had vanished — along with his money.

Disabled Tourist Left in Shock After Shower Theft

Chris, who also has a speech difficulty, managed to wheel himself down to the hotel reception and used his phone to explain what had happened. The shocked staff helped him report the crime to the Pattaya City Police at around 12:16am on Wednesday.

The robbers made away with 6,000 Baht (around £140), which Chris had planned to give them. They also took £150 in British notes that he hadn’t yet exchanged.

Police Track Down Suspects Using ID Cards

Local police confirmed that two of the three suspects were identified after leaving copies of their ID cards at hotel check-in. The two known suspects are 25–30-year-old Thai woman Chantakarn Donlueam and transgender woman Ekkarat Marknok. The third woman didn’t present any ID, and efforts are underway to trace her identity.

Captain Anirut Jehrah of Pattaya City Police said, “We have recorded the information on the daily log as evidence and dispatched investigators to collect footage from security cameras. We obtained crucial evidence of ID card photocopies, which the suspects gave to the hotel staff before going to the victim’s room. We are now pursuing them for prosecution.”

Hotel Staff Say Chris Is a Regular Guest

A staff member at the Basaya Beach Hotel and Resort said Chris is a regular visitor who had stayed there about four or five times before. Rooms at the hotel cost roughly 1,000 Baht (£23) per night. Because of his speech disability, Chris often used his phone to communicate with the staff.

The investigation is ongoing, and police hope to arrest all three suspects soon.
