Following the removal of Malam Muhammadu Sanusi ll earlier today by Kano State government, Bichi Aminu Ado Bayero has been announced as the new Emir of Kano.
Secretary to the State Government, Usman Alhaji made the announcement a few hours after the dethronement of Muhammadu Sanusi II.
However, the appointment takes immediate effect according to the SSG Usman.
In a further details obtained by ValidUpdates, the removal of Muhammadu Sanusi was prior to the recommendation of the Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission which summoned the emir, says SSG, Usman Alhaji.
He also explained that the state government took the decision to remove the traditional ruler over allegations of consistent refusal to abide by instructions given to him.
And in recent documents released by Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission, signed by its chairman, Sanusi was accused of obstructing the investigation of the commission.
Haven been asked severally by the commission to respond to a petition accusing him of selling lands belonging to the Kano Emirate at a whopping sum N2 billion, Sanusi secured a restriction order from a court to stop the commission from investigating him.
