Speaking with TVC this morning, February 28, the Lagos State deputy governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat stated that the Italian man with the first case of Coronavirus first visited Ogun State.
He also noted that the man fell ill while in Ogun State and was brought back to Lagos State where he was diagnosed with the virus.

Recall in the early hours of today, Nigeria Ministry of Health broke the news about the first case of Coronavirus in Nigeria through a post on its social media pages.
It stated that the case was confirmed on Thursday, February 27 as the first case to be reported in Nigeria since the beginning of the outbreak in China in January 2020.
The post reads;
“The Federal Ministry of Health has confirmed a coronavirus(Covid-19) case in Lagos State Nigeria. The case which was confirmed on 27/02/2020 is the first case to be reported in Nigeria since the beginning of the outbreak in China in January 2020”
