Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari has instructed the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, to further discuss with the South African authorities on a decent measures the South African government will take to end the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.
Buhari has also given approval for the immediate voluntary evacuation of all Nigerian citizens in South Africa who are willing to return to Nigeria.
The President gave the directive upon receiving the report of the special envoy he sent to President Cyril Ramaphosa last week to settle Nigeria’s concerns over the attacks.
The Executive body, in a statement on Monday, September 9 said the special envoy, who is the Director-General, National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufai-Abubakar, returned to Nigeria after the assignment and submitted his report to Buhari immediately.
