An Edo High Court has jailed ten internet fraudsters. The EFCC Benin Zonal team led the case to success. The case came up in Benin City, Edo State. The sitting took place on 16 September 2025.

Court hands two-year jail terms or fines
EFCC arraigned them on one-count charges for online crimes. Counts cover fake names, false gain, and advance fee fraud. The counts keep terms simple for quick, clear justice.
Other counts cite unlawful funds and forged or fake files. All ten men pleaded guilty in open court. The judge recorded each plea and noted the facts.
Prosecutors K. Y. Bello and Isa K. Agwai spoke. They asked the judge to convict the men. They filed proof of evidence for all ten men.
Defence lawyers begged for mercy and quick reform. They said the men feel shame and want change. Each man signed to “be of good behaviour.”
The convicts are Okoro Emmanuel, Billwise James Dikoru, Enoma Osasumwen. Samson Festus, Godspower Afolorunikon, Godwin Damien Omonle, Sunday Uanseoje. Their names appear on EFCC charge boards in photos.
Also Sylvester Iziren Udu, Ani Emmanuel Chucks, and Amilegbe Saviour. Each board shows the date, the case, and section. The list ends with Amilegbe Saviour as the tenth.
One count named Okoro Emmanuel and an iPhone 11. The count links to Advance Fee Fraud Act, 2006. Section one three sets the term on conviction.
