The Nigerian comedy scene faces another bitter dispute today. Content creator Angel Babaorobo has publicly confronted popular comedian Nasboi.
Babaorobo accuses the star of extreme underpayment. He claims the singer belittled him over transport money. On July 26, 2026, the upcoming act released an emotional video detailing his struggles.
The creator explained their working relationship since 2022. He frequently travelled long distances for various shoots.
He moved from Iju Ishaga, Bariga, and finally Ikorodu to Lekki. Despite this massive stress, he allegedly earned very little. Babaorobo claims he received just ₦10,000 on several occasions.
The transport fare clash
The crisis worsened over a major AY stage play. Nasboi allegedly secured the acting gig for Babaorobo.
The role offered a ₦200,000 fee. Babaorobo initially thought it was a simple one-day job. He soon realised rehearsals demanded daily trips to Eko Hotel.
These constant trips from Ikorodu proved too expensive. His manager advised him to seek financial help.
Babaorobo then asked Nasboi for transport assistance. The polite request deeply angered the established comedian. Nasboi sent harsh voice notes in response.
”Dem discuss ₦200,000 for you… ₦200k should be enough for you to take your transport back to your house.” Nasboi said in the leaked audio.
Entitlement and value debates
The audio notes exposed deep industry tensions. Nasboi sharply criticised the creator for seeking Uber money.
”You can’t say, ‘Send me money for Uber.’ Don’t act like you’re entitled all the time!” Nasboi added during the exchange.
He claimed the young actor lacked basic character. The singer demanded a complete change in attitude. Babaorobo fired back with clear frustration online.
”Shey me, I get value wetin people dey look for? Shey I no get value?” Babaorobo asked repeatedly in his video.
Management steps in
Swag Omoluabi quickly defended his struggling client. The manager explained the harsh reality of the job.
”There is nothing bad in asking for transport for a family man of four that doesn’t have anything.” Omoluabi stated to support the actor.
Nasboi firmly dismissed these emotional pleas. He questioned the commercial appeal of the actor. The hitmaker insisted the creator brought no real profit.
”Does he have any value that people are paying for? No, he’s upcoming!” Nasboi declared firmly.
