“I wish I did it earlier” — Tiwa
Speaking in a candid interview with Zeze Mills, the mother of one said she took the step as a form of insurance. She explained that she wants to be ready in case she chooses to expand her family.
“I wish I did it earlier. But I’ve done it now. I don’t know if I want more kids but in case I do, I’ve done that [frozen my eggs] just to have that insurance,” she said.
Advice for women in their 30s
Tiwa, who had her first child in her 30s, stressed the importance of women taking control of their fertility.
“One advice I will give to women in their 30s is – whether you wanna have children or not, egg freeze,” she said.
She noted that women may not realise their egg reserves can drop quickly. “You could wake up at 36 and your egg reserve is done. And then that’s when you now decide that you want to have kids,” she warned.
Her journey to motherhood
Tiwa described having her first child in her 30s as beautiful because she was more financially and emotionally stable at the time.
She has also recently revealed she is now only interested in dating wealthy men. After years of choosing love over money, she says she wants to experience what it feels like to be with someone richer.
ValidUpdates recalls that the singer welcomed her son Jamil Balogun with her then-husband Teebillz on July 22, 2015, when she was 34.
She has since become an advocate for egg freezing and says she will continue to encourage women to consider it as a proactive step
