The Lagos State Government has sealed Donald’s Fast Food, a restaurant owned by popular socialite Cubana Chief Priest, over environmental violations. The closure comes after officials uncovered illegal dumping of waste by the establishment.
Illegal Waste Disposal Sparks Government Action
In the early hours of Saturday, 18th May 2025, the Chairman of the Lekki Estate Residents Association (LERA) reported an incident involving the improper disposal of waste along Durosimi-Etti Street in Lekki Phase 1.

A white Ford van with Abuja registration plates GWA 136E was spotted dumping refuse indiscriminately in the area.
Investigations revealed that the vehicle was linked to Donald’s Fast Food, a nightlife establishment situated on Road 14 within the estate. Security officials apprehended the suspects and took them to the LERA Secretariat for further questioning.
Failed Bribery Attempt and Past Violations
In a surprising turn of events, two unidentified individuals reportedly attempted to bribe security officials with ₦100,000 to cover up the incident. The offer was rejected, reinforcing the authorities’ stance against corruption.
Cubana Chief Priest’s restaurant has had prior conflicts with Lagos State environmental regulators. The establishment was previously sealed in September 2024 for noise pollution and environmental infractions.
Government’s Stand on Environmental Regulations
The Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), in collaboration with LERA, continues to intensify its efforts to curb illegal waste disposal and enforce environmental standards. LAWMA commended LERA’s swift response in apprehending the defaulters.

Authorities confirmed that the suspects will face prosecution for violating environmental laws. LAWMA also urged businesses and residents to comply with proper waste management practices to avoid penalties.
This latest incident highlights the government’s determination to uphold environmental regulations and deter commercial operators from engaging in unlawful practices.
