A few hours after the reports about the emergence of a new Guinness World Records holder on the cooking marathon made the rounds, the former record holder, Hilda Baci congratulates the new holder Alan Fisher.
Alan Fisher, according to the Guinness World Records achieved a record of 119 hours and 57 minutes on the cooking marathon, plus an additional record of 47 hours and 21 minutes on a baking marathon.
It was noted that Alan, an Irish chef based in Tokyo, Japan was at work in the kitchen for over 160 hours with just over a day of rest in between.
After nine days of cooking and baking, Alan had made 357 kg worth of soda bread and 590 kg worth of dishes (3,360 portions consisting of 32 recipes).
Taking to her Twitter (now X) page, Hilda Baci who beat Indian chef Lata Tondon in June congratulates Alan as the new world record holder.
Hilda tweeted, βHuge congratulations to Alan Fisher! 119hrs 57mins is a huge achievement, and I wish him all the best as the new world record holder!β
