The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has shutdown all football activities in the country to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
The directives was issued by the NFF president Amaju Pinnick who stated that the shutdown of all football activities in the country will last for only 28 days.
The shutdown according to him will affect all on field activities including all the national teams, the Nigeria Professional Football League, the other leagues, youth football programmes and street football (monkey post).
Pinnick’s statement: “The cessation will be for four weeks after which the situation will be revised in line with trends and events worldwide. The only football related activity that will take place during the period is the NFF investigation into the death of Chineme Martins, the Nasarawa United player who died in action last week“
