The former head of Ghanian football Kwesi Nyantakyi was “slapped” with fraud by a high court in Accra after investigation shows how he dishonestly obtained $65,000 as financial inducement.
In court with him was a former member of Association’s Executive Committee, Abdulai Alhasan, who was also facing charges of fraud and conspiracy.
Nyantakyi pleaded not guilty in court to charges after an undercover documentary exposed his plans to sign and execute Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of a fictitious company.
Adjudicatory Chamber of FIFA’s ethics committee in October 2018 banned Nyantakyi for life from all football related activities both national and international level for bribery and corruption.
Both Mr Nyantakyi and Abdulai Alhasan have been granted bail with strict instruction to report to Police Criminal Investigation Department every Friday till 25 March, the next hearing date.
