Shortly after the embattled monarch, Muhammad Sanusi II was removed from office by Kano State government, he has been sent on exile.
The former Emir was sent on an exile to Nassarawa State. And photos obtained by Channels TV show him being sent on asylum amidst tight security through Kano International Airport.
Recall ValidUpdates earlier reported that the removal of Muhammadu Sanusi was prior to the recommendation of the Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission which summoned the emir, says SSG, Usman Alhaji.
The state government took the decision to remove the traditional ruler over allegations of consistent refusal to abide by instructions given to him.
And in recent documents released by Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission, signed by its chairman, Sanusi was accused of obstructing the investigation of the commission.
Haven been asked severally by the commission to respond to a petition accusing him of selling lands belonging to the Kano Emirate at a whopping sum N2 billion, Sanusi secured a restriction order from a court to stop the commission from investigating him.
