Two Union Bank workers were attacked by bandits on Monday.
This happened along the Gusau–Funtua highway in Tsafe LGA, Zamfara.

The armed men opened fire on a moving GAC SUV.
It had registration number BDG 251 HZ.
One killed, one kidnapped in daylight ambush
The attack happened around 2:40 p.m. on August 4, 2025.
The car was near Kucheri village when the bandits struck.
Inside the SUV were Zakari Leo and Muhammad Sani Suleman.
Both worked at the Yakubu Gowon Way branch in Kaduna.
Zakari Leo was the Union Bank regional head.
Suleman was one of his key staff.
Gunmen opened fire without warning.
They shot at the car while it moved.
Suleman dies from gun wounds
Security forces rushed to the area fast.
They searched the bushes and found Mr Leo.
He was alive but in shock.
However, Mr Suleman had gun wounds.
He was first taken to Tsafe General Hospital.
Doctors tried to help him quickly.
Later, he was moved to a specialist hospital in Gusau.
Sadly, he passed before reaching there.
Sources said his body was sent back.
It went to Union Bank’s Gusau branch.
Plans are underway for his burial.
