On August 21, 2026, the viral podcast episode sparked huge interest among Afrobeats fans worldwide. ValidUpdates understands that the top songwriter finally explained his creative process regarding the massive 2019 hit.

WurlD appeared as a guest on the Afropolitan Podcast to discuss his journey and recent royalty fights. He detailed his experience writing records for top artists and catching publishers stealing his money. The singer then cleared the air regarding the famous track that featured American star Chris Brown.

Unplanned Collaboration

The talented artist said he never initially planned to share the massive record with anyone else. He wrote the lyrics purely from his own personal view.

”A song like Blow My Mind for example I didn’t think of anyone else but myself,” WurlD stated.

Fate stepped in during the production phase of the track. Davido heard the song and immediately wanted to feature it on his own upcoming project. The unexpected teamwork birthed a global anthem that dominated charts.

”It just happened that it happened to be a Davido releasing the record right at the time,” the singer noted.

Creative Freedom

WurlD stressed that songwriting remains a deeply fluid and natural process for him. He voiced his willingness to support fellow musicians whenever the chance arises.

”You sometimes work with artists directly and you help them craft the record,” he explained.

The singer often sits with other artists to hear their stories and build songs around their emotions. However, he confirmed the case with this specific hit happened differently. He simply let the song go because his focus rested on promoting his own separate project.

”If I’m not using the record and I don’t have plans for it then it makes sense,” the star added.
