Nollywood actress Judy Austin took strict legal steps against her former husband. She shared court documents online to confirm the massive lawsuit.

The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja received the writ of summons. Anozie Obinnaya Obi Esq of Rubicom Legal Partners filed the case on her behalf. The legal team officially dated the court papers on July 1, 2026.

Massive financial claims

The actress posted the official papers on her verified Instagram account. She directed her anger at her ex-husband Emmanuel Chukwuobasi.

”Enough is Enough!!!” she wrote.

The claimant demands exactly one billion naira as general damages for defamation. She also seeks an order forcing him to retract his statements. The court document lists several other huge financial penalties.

Austin wants five hundred million naira in aggravated damages for his repeated publications. She claims his actions caused harmful consequences over a long period.

Demands for public apologies

The legal team added a demand for another five hundred million naira. They labeled this specific amount as exemplary damages. The lawyers hope this massive fee will deter similar conduct.

The lawsuit targets Chukwuobasi directly at his Anambra State address. Austin demands a full and unreserved apology in two national newspapers.

She wants him to post this same apology on all his social media pages. The actress requested a perpetual injunction to stop any further defamatory statements. The court order would also force him to delete all previous claims.

Heavy legal costs

Austin expects her former partner to pay her legal fees. She asks the court for one hundred million naira just to cover prosecution costs.

The legal team included another one hundred million naira charge. They called this second fee the general cost of the action. Finally, the writ demands a ten percent post-judgment interest on all monetary awards.
