Afrobeats star David Adeleke criticises Wande Coal during a new interview and ignores Wizkid inquiries
On August 18, 2026, Afrobeats singer Davido publicly criticised Wande Coal during a new interview. The music star claimed Wande is desperately seeking his attention and acting like a baby. He also bluntly refused to answer any questions regarding his ongoing rivalry with Wizkid.

The music industry faces another major dispute this week. ValidUpdates understands that Davido sat down for a revealing interview on August 18, 2026.
The singer spoke about his bad relationship with Wande Coal. He accused the older artist of forcing fake chats. Davido revealed he blocked Wande from getting his phone contact.
”He’s been looking for my attention for some reason. I don’t know, he even asked for my number two weeks ago and I told him not to give him. So he’s just acting like a baby. He’ll be fine. He has somebody to take care of him,” he said.
Remix Rumours Addressed
The fight between both stars started over a new song. Davido used the interview to clear up his past comments.
He noted that Wande wanted to release a remix featuring him. Davido insisted he never recorded new vocals for the track. The singer stated he simply rejected the song idea politely.
”I didn’t even say nothing bad. I just said, yeah, that I didn’t record his song as a remix and he wanted to drop it as a remix, so I was like, no, I don’t want us to do that, but if you listen to the interview, I was even like, but it would have been nice. That’s how I ended it,” Davido explained.
Disrespect And Dodged Questions
The chat soon shifted to music legacy and the old Mo’Hits era. Davido praised Wande as a childhood hero before delivering a harsh insult.
”I’ve known Wande. Wande was one of the artists I was, you know, growing up, looked up to,” he noted.
The younger star then claimed jealousy drives the current fight. He said Wande struggles to watch others achieve massive success. Davido believes this envy affects his mental state.
”I know it’s painful to see somebody come from back. So he’s not himself in the head, but he’ll be fine. One day he’ll be fine,” the singer declared.
Interviewers also tried to ask Davido about his rival Wizkid. The music star shut down the topic instantly to end the chat.
”I don’t want to answer that question. Oh, man. Oh, my god,” he said.
