Reality television star Bella Okagbue has officially responded to the legal threats from her former partner. Her legal team dismissed the defamation lawsuit from Segun Olusemo on August 24, 2026.

”We have reviewed the claims in your Notice dated the 21st day of August 2026 purportedly alleging malicious, defamatory and fake statements attributed to our client.” Her solicitors noted.

”We state for the records that our client unreservedly denies Mr Segun Olusemo’s ‘SHEGGZ’ (Your Client) spurious and baseless allegations as we impugn his motives.” The document read.

”Although, we have struggled to pinpoint the basis for your client’s claims and thereby finds it difficult to figure the exact defamatory statements that seems to have tainted his reputation or exposed him to ridicule, hatred or contempt.” The legal team stated.

”Furthermore, we have been unable to decipher the exact defamatory allegations which strikes your client’s reputation save for the genuine emotions expressed by our client via a social media platform, which perhaps merely bruise your client’s ego, we unequivocally states that the said statement will certainly not give rise to the claims he anticipate.” The letter declared.

The intense public dispute grew after Sheggz recently fired back with heavy demands against his ex. Fans have closely watched the drama unfold online. ValidUpdates understands that Bella plans to fight these demands in a proper court.

Breach of Promise and Financial Claims

The Royal Partners represent Bella in this ongoing case. They addressed the letter to Dayo Ogunjebe and Company in Lagos. The lawyers clarified the true nature of the broken relationship.

”The relationship between our client and your client is not one that has irretrievably broken down but rather a situation of ‘breach of promise to marry’ and misrepresentation of intentions that amounts to deceit.” They explained.

The legal document also highlighted serious money issues between the former couple. The solicitors accused Sheggz of taking money through dishonest means.

”Your client obtained several loans by false pretence from our Client, and we shall pursue this claim before a competent court, evidence abound.” The team warned.

Bella completely rejected all requests for a formal apology or public retraction. Her team stated she never published any false statements about him. They challenged Sheggz to provide actual receipts proving his mental distress.

”The onus resides with your client to provide receipts of any defamatory claims or whatsoever statement made against his family members.” The lawyers challenged.

”Your client asserts and he must prove the statement that caused him mental distress.” The letter continued.

”Please note that your client’s alleged suffering (if any) cannot be attributed to our client.” The firm added.

”Our client has made no false statements; hence, there cannot be any demand for cease and desist.” They concluded on the matter.

”Our client has not published statement that is capable of leading to defamation suit.” They clarified.

”Defamatory statements have not been made, hence there would be no retraction of any sort.” The firm insisted.

”The written confirmation desired will only be met with this letter denying claims.” The document stated.

Stern Warning Over Cyberstalking

The legal reply took a shocking turn near the end. Bella accused a specific lawyer from Sheggz’s legal team of severe harassment. The firm described these persistent actions as highly unethical.

”It is pertinent to issue a stern note of warning to the supposed Lawyer in your firm particularly operating with Phone No. [redacted], who inundate our client with unsolicited messages, phone calls and video calls at odd hours to kindly desist from these despicable acts, we consider this act unethical and low bearing of a Legal Practitioner. FOREWARNED IS FOREARMED.” The document cautioned.

Hakeem Salau officially signed the letter on behalf of Bella. The lawyer firmly reminded the opposing counsel to maintain strict professional boundaries.

”Please be guided, your client’s life and safety is not within the control of our client and If he does perceive any sort of insecurity, his Legal Representatives should take the necessary actions as required by Law, our client remains a law abiding citizen and aware of her rights and boundaries.” They advised.
