Reality star Tolanibaj calls out a rogue assistant over stolen DJ equipment worth millions
Reality star Tolanibaj has accused her executive assistant, Precious Akinyemi Deborah, of stealing three DJ controllers worth millions of naira from her Lagos academy on July 29, 2026. Police have recovered one controller from buyers in Alaba while the suspect remains on the run.

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Tolanibaj has shared a bitter betrayal by her trusted employee. The reality television star recently expanded her brand by launching a DJ academy in Lagos.
She hired Precious Akinyemi Deborah through an agency at the end of April. The role required the assistant to manage students and handle minor daily tasks. Problems started when three expensive DJ controllers vanished from the facility on July 29, 2026.
Ignored Red Flags
The agency contacted Tolanibaj three weeks into the job to withhold the assistant’s salary. They claimed her background check and reference forms were incomplete.
”It’s so freaking hurtful because you can’t be too kind to people. I swear. I got robbed by an employee, a young lady that I hired through a recruiting agency. I am making this video to prevent my fellow business owners from going through what I experienced by this young lady,” Tolanibaj stated.
Tolanibaj ignored the warning because the assistant appeared hardworking. She decided to message the young lady directly instead. The DJ owner asked her to provide the missing details without drama.
”Hey Precious, this… this… this is so hurtful. It’s so freaking hurtful because you can’t be too kind to people. I swear. I just need that information and the recommendation letter as well. I need to call and confirm. So just do the needful. I beg. I don’t want this to be stressful because um… what is it called, FMR has told me not to give you your salary but I don’t want to do that to you. So if I were you, I would be going above and beyond. Even information I’m not asking you for you should be providing. I shouldn’t have to ask you all this information. If anything you should have just messaged me, boss here is the information blah blah blah like come on now make this easy for you please,” the boss wrote.
The assistant provided just one document with an unverified address. Soon after, she began inflating prices for academy supplies.
About two weeks before classes began, Tolanibaj sent over six million naira to the assistant. Tolanibaj intended the funds to buy four DJ controllers from Alaba market. The assistant found the seller and handled the deal.
”I haven’t even made half of what I’m about to invest back into this business, but I’m just gonna hope for the best,” the reality star thought.
Things took a strange turn in July when the assistant started falling sick weekly. She would frequently request half of her salary in advance.
”Ma, I’m not able to come to work today. I’m sick,” Precious messaged.
”Okay, you’re sick but still make sure your job is done. Tell the DJs at the academy to carry on your responsibilities if you’re not going to be there,” Tolanibaj replied.
”Okay ma,” the assistant answered.
The boss corrected her immediately when she asked for another advance. She made it clear that such behaviour was unacceptable. None of her fifteen other workers had ever made similar demands.
”This is not a habit I’m trying to cultivate in my workspace. I have about 15 workers and none of them have ever asked me for half of their salary in advance,” the owner stated.
The Stolen Equipment Discovery
The real betrayal came to light during graduation week. The lead instructor noticed missing equipment and alerted the owner.
”Where are the controllers? We’ve not had DJ controllers at the academy for the past three weeks,” the instructor messaged.
”Excuse me?” Tolanibaj reacted.
The assistant had secretly removed three expensive controllers. She lied to the staff that her boss ordered an equipment upgrade. Tolanibaj quickly confronted her on a group call on July 29.
”Precious, where are my controllers?” the DJ demanded.
”Where are the controllers in the academy?” she asked.
”The controllers are there ma,” the assistant lied.
”Where?” Tolanibaj pushed.
”Where are the controllers at the academy?” the boss repeated.
”Ma, they are there,” the employee insisted.
”Precious, what are you saying? Why are you lying? You told us that boss said you should take the controllers out of the academy,” the lead instructor confronted.
”Ma, I’m so sorry. The controllers were faulty,” Precious claimed.
”Nothing was wrong with the controllers. You took three controllers because you said boss said take the controllers out,” the instructor fired back.
”Ma, and… the controllers are in my house right now. I’ve just been sick. I’ve not had transportation money,” the assistant confessed.
”Who told you to take the controllers out of the academy? Mind you, these controllers are worth millions, guys,” the owner shouted.
”You know what? You are hereby terminated,” Tolanibaj declared.
”I’m not a thief ma,” Precious pleaded.
The following day, the fired worker sent a photo of herself receiving medical drips. She promised to return the stolen items after being discharged.
”Good afternoon ma, I will take everything in my possession to your place ma. Once they discharge me ma, please bear with me ma,” the suspect wrote.
”Send the address of the hospital. I would like the DJs and my uncle to pick up everything. Don’t stress yourself,” the former boss replied.
”The stuffs are at home ma, and the laptop. And there is no one that can give them unless I get home myself ma. DJ Xprince said he will come and pick them up in the evening ma,” the assistant texted.
”Make sure Xprince receives everything this evening,” Tolanibaj instructed.
”Yes ma, he will,” Precious confirmed.
”Hello, it is important that we pick up everything tonight without excuses. Thank you,” the reality star added.
Instructors went to her house but found complete silence. The team quickly launched an internal investigation to track her down. They soon discovered she was trying to rent the gear out.
”Hi dear,” Precious texted a local DJ.
”What’s good?” he replied.
”Abeg I wan rent controller,” the thief requested.
”When and where?” the man asked.
”Lekki tomorrow. I need FLX 6 sha. Two,” she specified.
”How much is SRT?” the suspect inquired.
”100k,” he answered.
”What about XZ?” she pressed.
”Wait, what are you using it for?” the DJ questioned.
”It is not for me. I am asking for a friend,” the runaway claimed.
”You have this in you?” Tolanibaj wondered.
Arrests Made at Alaba Market
Tolanibaj then called the original seller at Alaba market using her receipt. The vendor confirmed a shocking detail about the runaway assistant.
”One of my girls came to your store to buy four controllers,” the celebrity explained.
”Oh yeah, I remember her,” the seller confirmed.
”She called me sometime in June to try to sell three controllers to me,” he revealed.
”Yeah, the same controllers that I sold to her. But I didn’t buy it because I was low on cash,” the man added.
The star realized the equipment had been missing for over a month. She had cancelled several July classes due to rain without knowing the truth. The suspect cut off all communication soon after the truth emerged.
”I don’t want my students having to come to the academy in this rain,” the DJ noted.
Police stepped in and successfully arrested two people who bought the stolen goods. The authorities recovered one controller while the prime suspect remains wanted.
