TikTok star explains why he refused to learn a trade like his parents wanted
Nigerian TikTok star and streamer Peller, real name Habeeb Hamzat, has revealed why he refused to learn a trade despite pressure from his parents. Speaking on The Honest Bunch Podcast, he said his master’s low weekly pay convinced him football, and later TikTok, offered a better path.
Peller has opened up about why he never learned a trade. His parents pushed him toward an apprenticeship for years. But the TikTok star always found a reason to say no.
He shared his reasons on The Honest Bunch Podcast. Peller said his master could barely earn N20,000 in a week.
Doubts About Learning a Trade
Peller said both his father and mother pushed him toward an apprenticeship. He refused every time. He did not see the point in learning a trade from a struggling master.
“Wetin give me the assurance say me I go dey make pass am?” he asked.
He questioned why he should follow a master who could not earn much himself. Still, Peller admitted that grace and glory could come from any path. He simply felt his own future sat somewhere else.
Choosing Football Over the Workshop
Peller often left home as if he were headed to the workshop. Instead, he ran off to play football. He would only return home once night fell.
“Football na my career,” he said.
He believed football would take him far beyond his neighbourhood. Peller pictured himself on the world’s biggest stage, playing alongside the sport’s best names.
How Fate Turned Him Into a TikTok Star
Football never took Peller to the World Cup. He said fate simply had a different plan for him. Life pushed him toward TikTok and streaming instead.
“God change my life to TikToker, streamer,” he said.
Much like when he opened up about abuse he suffered as a boy on the same show, Peller proved he holds little back in interviews. He later went further on the podcast, detailing the oath he and Jarvis swore against cheating in a separate episode.
His trade story adds one more honest chapter to a year full of them. Fans now know his path to fame started with a simple refusal to learn a trade.
