Security breach and charges
Officials identified the suspect as 31-year-old California resident Cole Allen. He now faces four federal felony charges.
These charges include an attempt to assassinate the president. He also faces charges for assaulting a federal officer. Furthermore, prosecutors charged him with discharging and transporting a firearm.
The Trump joke and reaction
Fox News reportedly invited Minaj to the original April dinner. However, she ran late and missed the chaotic shooting entirely.
Organisers rescheduled the dinner for Friday, July 24. Minaj skipped this second event as well. Despite her total absence, Trump claimed she attended the first gathering.
The president joked she did something odd during the shooting. He specifically joked about her twerking while taking the podium.

Trump told the packed crowd. Minaj quickly noticed the viral quote online.
She reacted by sharing a photo on social media. The post included an image file named 1001678319.jpg showing a scary pink-haired doll wearing a suit. She added a direct warning to the president.

Minaj wrote this caption alongside the picture. She offered no further verbal comment on the bizarre claims.
