Rapper accused of chasing partner with hammer during dispute in Horry County
Brooklyn rapper Desiigner is back in custody after a second domestic violence arrest in four months. Horry County police charged the 29-year-old, whose legal name is Sidney Selby, with malicious injury and domestic violence following a Wednesday incident at a home in the Conway area.

According to the arrest report, the trouble began when Selby took televisions off the wall, sparking an argument with his partner. He allegedly smashed her phones with a hammer, and she fled with their child to a neighbor’s home for help.
Police say Selby chased her down, pushed her to the ground, and tore her purse away before also damaging the neighbor’s car and windows with the hammer and a screwdriver.
Selby was booked on one domestic violence count alongside two property-damage counts, and while a judge set a $1,500 bond on one charge, he’s being held without bond on the rest.
This is his second arrest on domestic violence charges this year, he was previously taken into custody in March 2026 on a third-degree domestic violence charge involving the same partner, accused of tearing her clothing and throwing her to the ground, and was free on a $1,500 bond from that case when this arrest happened.
