Nollywood actress and content creator Ella Emmanuel has said she cannot stand stingy men in love or friendship.
Fast-rising Nollywood actress and content creator Ella Emmanuel said in an interview with Potpourri that she wants a kind, generous, intentional and emotionally mature man, and she will not date a stingy man or accept nude roles, no matter the pay.
Her comments have sparked fresh talk about the kind of men many women now want. She also made it clear that her values will stay firm as her career grows.
“I love a kind-hearted, generous, intentional and intelligent man. I admire someone who knows what he wants, takes responsibility, respects women, communicates well and is emotionally mature,” she said.
What she wants in love
Ella said she values character more than looks. She wants a man who leads with care and respect.
She also said stinginess is a full stop for her.
“One thing I cannot deal with is stinginess. Honestly, if you’re stingy, we probably can’t even be friends, let alone date. I’m naturally generous, so I appreciate someone with the same spirit. Kindness is attractive. Emotional intelligence is attractive. A man with purpose and vision is incredibly attractive.”
Why she draws the line on screen
The actress also spoke about her limits in Nollywood. She said no amount of money can make her drop her values.
“I have personal values and boundaries that I won’t compromise. You will never see me taking nude roles or appearing naked in a movie, regardless of the amount of money involved. I believe it’s possible to deliver an outstanding performance without compromising my principles,” she stated.
The hard road to success
Ella said her path in acting came with rejection, money stress and self-doubt. Those hard times helped her grow stronger.
She said they taught her patience, grit and steady work. They also pushed her to focus on her own lane instead of comparing herself with others.
