The case sits at the Ikorodu Family Court under a magistrate. Court papers list Mr Joseph Aloba against his daughter in law, Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba. Wunmi first raised her fears in an earlier DNA case warning note.

According to the new ruling, the latest hearing held on December second. Mr Aloba came with yet another lawyer, Oladayo Ogungbe, who sought fresh orders. He asked the court to use two foreign hospitals his side picked.

Court rejects handpicked foreign hospitals

The magistrate struck out that request after hearing both legal teams. The court said, “The neutrality of the DNA process must be preserved.” The judge held that only neutral centres chosen by court can handle samples.

Once it became clear the court would not indulge his list. Mr Aloba then withdrew the motion in open court. The ruling notes this pattern of new lawyers and demands has delayed the test.

The court also restated that payment for any DNA test stays on the applicant. Since he filed the case, Mr Aloba must fund the labs and related costs. The magistrate stressed that hospital choice rests with the bench, not either family.

Court sets next steps and timeline

All sides left contact details so a welfare officer can plan sample collection. That officer will call each party when the chosen hospitals are ready. The case has now been adjourned to February third twenty twenty six for updates.

In a press note, Wunmi’s lawyer Kabir Akingbolu praised the magistrate’s firm stand. He said her team has stayed ready for testing while Mr Aloba changes plans. He linked that behaviour to a recent burial delay court story.

The statement again stressed that Wunmi has nothing to fear from the test. It said she wants clear info for her son and late husband’s name. Her camp insists the process should run without drama or private deals.

For now, the magistrate’s ruling means the court alone will pick test centres. All parties must appear when called and follow each fresh order. Fans still wait for answers on paternity and justice for the late singer.
