The Osun State Government has appointed Afrobeats singer Davido (David Adeleke) as chairman of its newly created Sports Trust Fund. The move is part of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s broader plan to boost sports growth and attract private investment across the state.

According to the Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Sports, Kola Adewusi, the initiative is structured to bring sustainable funding to Osun’s sporting sector.

Adewusi also confirmed that the government is near completion of the Osogbo Township Stadium renovation. The upgraded facility, he said, will meet international standards and serve as a venue for future national and global sporting events.
