What he told BBC Hausa
Atiku said, “I will not delay to step down.” He said that will hold if a younger, widely liked ADC pick emerges. He said he would give such a person full help. He called on youths to get in the ring and act now.
He denied claims that he wants the seat at all cost. “I am not keen for power,” he said.
“I just want to save our dear land from those who hold it,” he added.
He also spoke on why he leans on ADC today. He said, “That is why we set up ADC, which I joined.” He said he could not get this done inside PDP. He blamed APC for “using some PDP leaders to block change.”

Atiku said PDP woes grew worse with each week. He said hope of peace “kept fading fast.”

He also said he lacked the role to fix things. “If I were chair or scribe, I would act,” he noted.
He said those in those seats “chased their own aims,” not the party’s.
