What both sides are seeking

Prince Abdulmalik Ado Ibrahim and Adama Indimi married in August 2020. They divorced in August 2024 at the Upper Area Court, Gudu. Their union produced one child.

Adama filed at the Upper Area Court, Kado, for full custody. She asked for monthly upkeep to cover food, clothes, and utilities. She also sought a nanny’s pay of $2,000 plus ₦100,000, school fees, and legal papers.

Prince Abdulmalik did not oppose custody for the underage child. He offered ₦1 million each month rather than the $2,000 request. He further proposed to pay school fees straight to the school.

Appeal, bench warrant, next dates

Adama’s counsel said the prince frustrated her witnesses at the lower court. He asked that the court compel his appearance and bank statements. The court granted that bid, and the prince filed an appeal.

Despite the appeal, her team pushed for a bench warrant. The Kado court adjourned that separate request to 27 October. That lower court step remains live and awaits fresh direction.

At the appellate sitting, counsel for the prince asked more time. Adama’s counsel said her counter-affidavit was filed within time. The panel led by Grand Khadi Ibrahim Rufai Imam adjourned to 28 October for a full hearing, alongside other recent legal timelines like the Diddy 50-month sentencing case.
