Key points:
- Police say the trucks belong to two other firms. Dangote Group says none of them is theirs
- Two separate crashes happen on the same Enugu road. First in the morning, then later in the day
- The firm warns against fake use of its logo. It vows legal steps to stop brand abuse
Two fatal road crashes shook Enugu on Wednesday. Soon after, some posts blamed Dangote Group. The firm has now pushed back with clear facts.

In a fresh press note, Dangote Group set the record straight. Police confirm the trucks do not belong to the Group. The firm also sent thoughts and prayers to all the families.
Police confirm owners of both trucks
Police in Enugu gave full details in a note. Officers say the trucks belong to Visco Investment Global and Global Investment. Dangote Group says, “Those trucks are not ours,” and urges calm. It asks the press to stop all false claims at once.
The press note states the first truck bears “Visco Investment Global”. It carried white cement bags. It moved on the inward-bound Enugu lane. It headed to Abuja from Aba in Abia State.
“The first incident, a multiple-vehicle crash, happened at about 9 a.m.,” the Command stated. “The Howo truck hit a Toyota Corolla that tried to overtake.”
Morning crash kills six on inward Enugu lane
That morning crash also drew in two other small buses. A Foton bus and a Daihatsu Hijet mini bus joined the pile. They drove one-way on the same lane, police say. The truck head and the Toyota Corolla then went up in flames.
Five people in the car died in the fire. A rider in the mini bus also died at the scene. A doctor on duty confirmed the death, the note adds. The scene stayed tense as teams worked on the road.
Afternoon crash claims four near Nenwe in Aninri
Hours later, a second crash hit the same road. This time it involved a Sino truck and a tricycle. Police say the truck belongs to Global Investment. It also carried cement on the inward-bound lane.
The truck drove from Garriki Enugu to Nenwe in Aninri LGA. It rammed into the tricycle on the busy lane. Teams rushed four tricycle riders to a nearby hospital. Doctors later confirmed the four people dead.
Firm warns against logo misuse and false claims
Dangote Group says fake use of its logo must stop. It says some truckers put the brand on their vehicles. The firm calls that act a crime and a risk. It now plans strict checks and firm legal steps.
“Please stop false posts,” the note adds in clear terms. The firm urges blogs and pages to verify news. It asks the public to wait for facts from police. It also sends kind words to all the sad families.
