Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has opened up about her love life, saying she has never truly experienced love except from her son, Jamil Balogun.
The 44-year-old revealed this during an interview with British media personality Zeze Mills. She explained that when she looks back at her romantic past, she realises what she felt then was not genuine love.
“It was just infatuation” — Tiwa reflects
Tiwa said she once believed she was in love during her relationships. However, with time, she began to see them differently.
“I don’t think I’ve experienced true love apart from my son,” she said. “Because every time I look back at all my relationships, I’m like, nah, that wasn’t love. I was just infatuated. At that time I thought I was in love. I don’t think I experienced true love even when I was married.”
“Maybe love isn’t for me” — singer admits
The award-winning singer went further to say she may have to accept that love is not for her. She explained that she has tried many times but has not been able to find real love.
“Maybe love isn’t for me because I have tried over and over again so maybe love isn’t for me this lifetime,” she added.
Past marriage and family life
