Ogun says the X block shuts him out of public updates
The lawyer says he can’t get key facts from the Governor’s page. He adds that this hurts his work and civic duty. He writes that “blocking me on X has stopped me from updates.” He notes the account shares Lagos policy and governance news.
He cites free speech and a similar US court case
Ogun links the case to free speech rights in Nigeria. He says the law lets him get public info without blocks. He also points to a US ruling on Trump’s Twitter blocks. He asks the court here to learn from that ruling.
He asks the court to compel an unblock, not damages
Ogun says stress from the block left him “haunted” and “tired.” He still won’t ask for cash so people won’t call him a “gold digger.” He pleads: “Just unblock me.” He also wants a formal apology from the Governor.
Meanwhile, Ogun says the state must welcome fair critique. He calls online blocks by public officers undemocratic.
In addition, he warns against arrests and online gag tools. He lists arrests, spying, and “outright blocking” as common tools.
