Key Points:
- Diddy’s lawyer confirmed talks with Trump’s team about a possible pardon.
- Trump admitted he’s friendly with Diddy but may not offer help.
- Diddy’s final sentence is expected on October 3.
Sean “Diddy” Combs might be looking to the White House for a lifeline. With his sentencing date fast approaching, his legal team has now turned to former US President Donald Trump for help.

One of his lawyers, Nicole Westmoreland, said they’ve made contact with Trump’s team. She revealed they spoke with them about the possibility of a presidential pardon that could spare Diddy from jail.
Lawyer confirms pardon talks with Trump
In a chat with CNN, Westmoreland confirmed, “It’s my understanding that we’ve reached out and had conversations in reference to a pardon.”
This move comes as Diddy awaits his October 3 sentencing. He was found guilty of moving a person across states for sex work. Though cleared of the more serious charges, he still faces jail time.
Diddy’s defence has tried different options. Earlier, they begged the court to grant him bail. But the judge refused and said Diddy still posed a threat to others.
Trump responds but gives little hope
Meanwhile, President Trump has responded. In an interview with Newsmax, he admitted he shares a friendly bond with the 55-year-old rapper. “I’m friendly with Diddy,” Trump said.
However, when asked if that meant he would step in and offer a pardon, Trump gave a cold reply. “I would say so, yeah,” he said, suggesting a pardon is not likely.
Close sources also shared that the chances of Diddy getting help from Trump are low, even with the recent contact.
Diddy faces ticking clock before court day
Diddy has been behind bars for months now. And as the sentencing date draws closer, his team seems to be running out of time and options.
The court earlier ruled that Diddy would remain locked up until the sentence is passed. The judge based that on past violence and recent actions involving a woman identified as “Jane.”
ValidUpdates earlier reported that Diddy’s bail was also denied, even after his lawyer mentioned his twin daughters being present in court. The judge was not moved.
Now, all eyes are on October 3. That’s when the court will decide how long Diddy stays behind bars.
