Ubi Franklin Breaks Down as He Loses Beloved Sister
Popular Nigerian music executive and talent manager, Ubi Franklin, is grieving the loss of his elder sister. The entertainment boss, who also manages Chioma, wife of singer Davido, shared the heartbreaking news in an emotional Instagram post on Saturday.

He revealed that his sister died after battling cancer. “Today, Death visited me and took one of the most precious gifts life ever handed to me — my sister,” he wrote. “She birthed the Ubi Franklin you all know today. She opened my eyes to what life truly is.”
“Cancer, Why?” — Ubi Franklin Shares Personal Journey
In his long message, Ubi reflected on the deep bond he shared with his sister. He recalled how she stood by him after their father’s death in 2004 when he was still studying Law at Madonna University.
“She and her husband took me in,” he said. “In 2005, during one holiday, she took me to Lagos to visit my elder brother. From that moment, I never looked back. That trip changed everything. That was where the journey of Ubi Franklin began.”
He explained that though he officially became his brother’s personal assistant, his sister always insisted, “Before anyone else, you were my PA.” According to Ubi, she called him that until her final days.
He Missed Her Final Moments by a Few Hours
Ubi also shared how he spent the last few months by her side. From April to early July, he was able to spend quality time with her. On July 3rd, he visited her before travelling to England, promising to see her again after his return.
Sadly, she passed on July 6 after moving back to Abuja to be with her family. Ubi got a call from his siblings the following day. She had been moved to the ICU, and though he rushed back, she died while he was still in the air.
“When I landed in Abuja at 4:20 am, she had already passed, but they didn’t tell me until 4 pm,” he painfully revealed.
Ubi Describes Her as His Rock and Biggest Cheerleader
Despite the heartbreak, Ubi said he’s grateful for the life she lived. “She was my rock, my backbone, my biggest cheerleader,” he said. “This hurts deeply. It has left a scar in my heart. But I will forever love you. I know… you’re in a better place.”
The post triggered a wave of love and condolence messages from fans, celebrities, and friends. Many praised his sister for her kindness and how she positively influenced those around her.
