Nicki Minaj Sparks New Drama, Drags SZA in Online Fight
Nicki Minaj and SZA shocked fans on Tuesday night, July 15, as they clashed in a fiery online feud on X (formerly Twitter).
The drama started when Nicki went after Top Dawg Entertainment president Terrence “Punch” Henderson. But it quickly turned into a full-blown fight with singer SZA.

Minaj didn’t hold back. She claimed SZA was not important in the music world. “If every song you’ve ever done vanished, the music business wouldn’t even miss you,” Nicki wrote.
She continued, “I’ve been to countries that never heard of you. Stadiums? Did you look at the venues I played during my own festival tour out of the country last year? Have you ever headlined to 80K people?”
“I’m an Icon, You’re Not” — Nicki Doubles Down
Nicki bragged about her fame and awards. “Boo, I’m an icon. You’re not. The end,” she posted. She also accused SZA of being fake and unsure of herself. “You still have no clue who you are!”
In one of the harshest moments, Nicki mocked SZA’s singing. She said SZA only “yodels with auto-tune that needed retuning.”
Minaj also brought up old tweets allegedly made by SZA years ago. She claimed they were attacks on Rihanna, Ciara, and Beyoncé. “B—h used to be on Twitter dissing Rihanna, Ci, etc. Allegedly,” Nicki wrote.
Nicki Rants Further on Live Stream
Minaj later moved her rant to her Stationhead audio stream. There, she made it even worse, calling SZA “MZA” and saying she doesn’t know “one of [her] motherf—king songs.”
“Find you some motherf—king else body to play with,” she said. “You already played with your own, and we see how that went.”
So far, SZA hasn’t responded publicly. Billboard confirmed that they reached out to her team for comment.
A Long History of Success for Both Stars
Though the root of their clash is still unclear, some reports say Minaj once tried to work with SZA back in 2020. But the singer reportedly turned it down, and the collab never happened.
Still, both stars have seen huge success. SZA’s SOS album is still sitting in the top five on the Billboard 200. It’s been on the chart for over 135 weeks since its 2022 release.
Meanwhile, Minaj holds the record for the most No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 by any female rapper. She also has 149 Hot 100 hits.
