May and Yul Must Co-Parent, Says May’s Lawyer
May Edochie’s lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, has made things clear about the co-parenting relationship between his client and her estranged husband, actor Yul Edochie.
In a post shared on Monday, July 14, via his Instagram page, Ugwuonye confirmed that the ex-couple are already co-parenting. He said this must happen because they have children together.

He explained, “Yes, May and Yul have children together. They will co-parent. Why is that driving anybody cr*zy?”
Co-Parenting Is Required, Not Optional
According to Ugwuonye, both May and Yul are fulfilling their parenting roles. Yul provides financial support and pays school fees. He also has full access to his children.
Ugwuonye stressed, “That is the meaning of co-parenting. To co-parent, the parents must cooperate for that purpose.” He noted that communication is important. Without talking, parents cannot raise their children well.
He added that many people online don’t understand what co-parenting really means. But the truth, he said, is that both May and Yul have “no choice over the matter: they have to co-parent.”
Judy Austin Has No Legal Ties To The Children
Ugwuonye also addressed the ongoing talk about Judy Austin, Yul’s current partner. He made it clear that Judy has no legal role in May’s children’s lives.
He stated, “As for Judy, she is not yet in any legal relationship with May’s children. There is no basis for any cooperation between May and Judy.”
He explained that until Judy marries Yul officially, she cannot be seen as the children’s stepmother. So, there is no expectation that she must interact with May or the kids.
“Law Is Law,” Ugwuonye Insists
Ugwuonye ended his post by reminding people that family matters like this are guided by law, not by online arguments or emotions.
He wrote, “You can display whatever ignorance is in your head. The fact is the fact, and the law is the law.”
His words bring much-needed clarity to a family situation that has continued to attract public interest.
