Key Points:
- Lawyer Emeka Ugwuonye and his DPA team have officially withdrawn from representing Queen May.
- They blame May Nation supporters for harassment, saying it’s worse than attacks from her ex-husband’s camp.
- DPA says their staff’s safety and morale have been badly affected and will now focus on legal action against May Nation’s leader.
Emeka Ugwuonye Ends Legal Support for Queen May
In a surprising twist, Queen May Edochie’s lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, has announced the immediate withdrawal of his legal services. His law group, DPA Family Law Clinic, cited growing hostility and harassment from May’s own fans, known as the “May Nation,” as the reason for backing out.

“The environment created by some of her supporters has become toxic,” DPA wrote in a lengthy Facebook statement. “It’s now impossible for us to offer her proper legal help.”
They explained that bullying from May’s fans was even worse than the abuse they received earlier from Yul Edochie’s camp. “We simply can’t fight for someone who allows or ignores this kind of behaviour,” the lawyer added.
Staff Facing Daily Online Abuse
The law firm went on to list two major problems. First, the harassment made it hard to continue the legal battle. Second, it destroyed team morale.
“The passion and drive needed to win this case has been broken,” they stated. “Our young male and female staff are being abused online every day. May’s silence and failure to stop these fans makes it even harder.”
They made it clear that Queen May was indeed a victim of betrayal and abuse in her marriage. However, they stressed that their staff are human and must be protected from harm.
“I cannot send my team into battle when the enemy now includes those we are fighting for,” Ugwuonye wrote.
DPA Still Supports May But Will Not Tolerate Abuse
Despite leaving the case, the firm wished Queen May victory and praised her strength. “She’s a remarkable woman. We’ll work with her new lawyers to ensure a smooth handover,” the post added.
However, DPA plans to take action against the head of May Nation, who they say hides under the name “Judy Obasiyul Autism.” They accused this person of leading the online attacks and said legal action will follow.
The statement ended with gratitude to DPA staff and a prayer: “God bless our team for their dedication. We’re proud of you.”
