IVD demands custody after daughter’s condition sparks outrage
Controversial businessman Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, has cried out again online, accusing his in-laws of neglecting his children. He shared a school video of one of his daughters, claiming she looked poorly taken care of.

The video, now making rounds on social media, shows his daughter standing in front of her schoolmates. Though she was praised as the new “Head Girl,” IVD focused on her appearance, which he described as “tacky.”
“Return my kids, I can’t take this!” — IVD fumes
In a series of Instagram Stories, IVD wrote,
“My kids are looking so sick. God abeg help me. You people should tell this in-law to return my kids with immediate effect. I can’t take this any longer, these kids need care.”
He went further to challenge his in-laws openly:
“I challenge her to post her daughter so you guys should compare how tacky my children are looking. Kai kai kai!”
Another slide read: “Compare this present video of my daughter Munachi. All my kids were born into wealth. This in-law kidnapped them. See how one of my daughters is looking. Return my children now or else.”
Public reactions: “IVD too should take some blame”
Social media users flooded the comments with mixed views. Some sided with IVD and blamed the in-laws for allegedly dragging the kids from a better life in Lekki to a tougher area in Okokomaiko.
One user wrote: “From Lekki to Okokomaiko? Make una no use malice spoil wetin children suppose enjoy.”
Another comment said: “Nigeria really has no laws on children’s rights because why are the kids with the in-laws and refusing the father from seeing them?”
However, others didn’t hold back in criticising IVD himself.
A popular user said: “You’ve not seen them for 3 years! You should be fighting to be present, not cuddled by another woman.”
Another added, “You can care for your kids without custody. With how your wife died, the in-laws have every reason to hold them.”
Ongoing custody drama and emotional toll
Since the tragic death of IVD’s wife Bimbo in October 2022, the battle over their five children has remained heated. While IVD insists he has a right to be involved, Bimbo’s family allegedly took full custody and cut off communication.
The businessman’s recent emotional outburst shows the matter is far from over. His followers now await the next step as tension continues to rise between both families.
