Davido Responds to Critics Mocking His Wealthy Background
Nigerian music star Davido has taken a playful swipe at critics who continue to shame him for enjoying his father’s wealth.
The singer, who is the son of billionaire businessman Adedeji Adeleke, said he would return as a vulcaniser in his next life. He made this joke in response to online trolls who accused him of bragging about flying private jets.

“It’s My Birthright,” Davido Tells Haters
In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Davido expressed no regrets about flying his family’s jet.
He wrote, “This free jet wey I dey fly all around the world dey really pain una. I’m sorry it’s my birth right. In my next life, I go come back as vulcaniser. Ma binu.”
This comment came after some netizens attacked him online for what they called flaunting wealth. However, Davido didn’t hold back as he defended his privileges, reminding everyone that he was simply born into it.
Davido Says His Wealth Attracts Hate in the Industry
This isn’t the first time the “Unavailable” crooner has addressed the hate he receives.
In past interviews, Davido revealed that many people in the music industry dislike him not because of his music, but because of where he comes from.
According to him, people often say he only got famous because of his family’s riches. But the singer strongly disagrees. He believes his hard work and talent have played a bigger role in his success.
Despite the noise, Davido has continued to top charts and headline major shows across the globe.
Many fans also praised him for staying true to himself and not letting online trolls get under his skin.
