Burna Boy distances himself from online coin business
Nigerian music star Burna Boy has warned fans not to believe anyone linking him to cryptocurrency or any so-called “coin” business online.
In a post shared on his official Instagram story, the Grammy-winning singer stated clearly that he has no ties to any crypto-related activity. He also warned the public that anyone doing such under his name is a scammer.

“BTW. I don’t do any internet ‘Coin’ business,” Burna wrote.
“I see it as fraud and I have no interest in any of that.”
He went further to urge his fans and the general public to stay alert. Burna asked people to report or ignore any suspicious pages or individuals pretending to represent him in any crypto deal.
“It’s fraud, I’m not involved” – Burna tells fans
Burna Boy didn’t hide his disapproval of these crypto schemes. He made it clear that people using his name to promote coins or digital assets are dishonest.
“So if you see anyone using my name for such, please disregard or report them,” he added.
This is not the first time celebrities have had to defend themselves against internet scammers. In recent times, several Nigerian entertainers have raised alarms over fake accounts and fraudsters using their names to defraud fans.
Scammers keep targeting fans with fake celebrity endorsements
With the rise of digital trading platforms and social media, cybercriminals now create fake accounts and pages pretending to be famous people. They often trick fans with fake investment promises or giveaways.
Burna Boy’s warning is a timely reminder for fans to stay smart online. Real celebrities do not randomly message fans about money, coins, or investments — especially not on Instagram or Facebook.
Fans should always double-check pages and avoid sharing personal details or money with unknown accounts. If in doubt, it’s best to ignore or report.
