Simon says he was ‘blindsided’ by divorce
Nigerian-born businessman Simon Guobadia has spoken out for the first time since his split from Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, saying he now regrets the entire marriage.
In an exclusive chat with Page Six, Simon, 61, revealed, “I kept asking, ‘Why did you file for a divorce?’ And she wouldn’t say anything. I was totally blindsided.” He added that even her family avoided him, which made the situation feel like a setup.
Simon claimed that, when he couldn’t reach anyone, he sent Porsha a text saying, “This was a $5 million rehab project that I took on.”

Williams filed for divorce in February 2024 after just 14 months of marriage. She later told People that she hired an immigration lawyer in January after learning about Simon’s “complex” legal issues. She said a confrontation on Valentine’s Day led her to finally end the marriage.
Simon opens up on prenup ruling and plans to appeal
The divorce judge upheld the couple’s prenuptial agreement, which Simon says favoured Porsha. According to him, the court awarded her $40,000 per month in alimony for the 14 months they were married, totalling $560,000.
“She gets to stay in the house in Atlanta for up to three years,” Simon explained. “And if she wants to buy it, she’ll have to give me 50% equity.”
However, Simon says the ruling is far from final. “I’m 1,000% going to appeal. I’ve honoured prenups before, but this time I feel I was targeted. I’ll go to the Supreme Court if I must.”

He claimed their relationship began when Porsha messaged him after his split from ex-wife Falynn Guobadia. “I was in a vulnerable place and made the mistake of getting engaged after 30 days. I was out of my mind. Of course, I’m paying for it now.”
No bond with Porsha’s daughter, calls her actions “calculated”
Although the couple didn’t have kids together, Porsha’s daughter, Pilar “PJ” Jhena, 6, lived with them during the marriage. Still, Simon insists he had no relationship with the child.
“There’s a tendency for partners to use their kids to get back at me,” he said. “Porsha is no different.” He admitted she once texted to say PJ missed him, but he ignored it.
Simon believes Porsha wanted to reconcile after realising she had made a mistake, but “at that point, I was done.”

During the divorce, Porsha said she paid Simon’s child support while he was held by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for four months. But Simon dismissed the gesture, saying the $5,000 she sent was just for show. “It was done to create a court narrative. It wasn’t done in good faith.”
Meanwhile, a source close to Porsha responded simply: “Porsha has moved on and wishes Simon the best.”
