Igbo People Are Helping the State

Governor Stein said many Igbo people are doing well in important jobs. These include education, medicine, law, business, and government work.

He added that the Igbo community works hard to teach young people about their roots. They help the next generation understand and be proud of who they are.

Governor Stein also praised the Igbo people for staying united and proud of their culture. He said they are building a strong and loving community in North Carolina.

A Community That Gives Back

The Igbo community in North Carolina also helps others in many kind ways. They help out at schools and keep the roads clean.

They visit sick people, help women in need, give food to hungry families, and join fun local festivals.

The Governor said these actions show how much the Igbo people care about their community. He also said they are helping to keep their traditions alive for many years to come.

North Carolina Joins Minnesota

North Carolina is now the second U.S. state to honour the Igbo people in this way. Minnesota was the first, recognising Igbo Day on August 13, 2022.

Now, both states celebrate the Nigerian group for their great work and rich culture.

Governor Stein thanked the Igbo community for their many years of support and hard work. He said they make the state of North Carolina a better place for everyone.
