Key Points:
- Mansura Isa says her second husband tricked her into marriage to take control of her N4 billion contract.
- He disappeared the morning after the wedding and later divorced her after public pressure.
- Fellow actress Fati Mohammad says people wrongly blame Kannywood actresses for failed marriages.
Popular Kannywood actress, Mansura Isa, has opened up about the heartbreaking collapse of her second marriage. The actress described the experience as sudden and shocking—like something out of a movie.
She shared her story during a recent interview on BBC Hausa’s Mahangar Zamani programme. Mansura appeared on the show alongside fellow actress, Fati Mohammad. Together, they discussed the challenges female celebrities face in marriage.
Mansura’s marriage had become a hot topic in 2024. Many fans were happy for her when she remarried after her divorce from actor Sani Danja. The two were once seen as one of Kannywood’s favourite couples. They have four children together: Iman, Khalifa, Sultan, and Sudais.

But now, Mansura says her second husband never truly loved her. Instead, he tricked her to get close to a contract worth N4 billion.
“I Married for Love, But He Had a Secret Plan”
Mansura explained that she met her second husband through a relative. At the time, she was working on a contract in Lagos and needed help. Since she didn’t have a representative there, she trusted him to handle the deal.
“He started showing interest in me. Then he proposed, and I agreed. I believed it was true love,” she said.
She said they got married quietly at night. The next morning, he left for Lagos. But what happened next shocked her deeply.
On their wedding night, he gave her a contract paper to sign. The agreement allowed him to manage the N4 billion deal in her name. He said it was fine because they were now partners.
“He Left and Never Came Back”
After the wedding, Mansura said he took over the entire contract. He stopped including her in any part of the deal. Soon after, he blocked her calls and cut all contact with her.
“I never saw him again,” she said. “He acted like the marriage never happened.”
Later, people confronted him in Lagos. To their surprise, he told them he had forgotten that he got married. At first, he refused to give her a divorce. But after some pressure from others, he agreed and sent the divorce.
Fati Mohammad Defends Kannywood Actresses
During the interview, Fati Mohammad also spoke out. She defended women in the film industry, especially when it comes to failed marriages. She said many people blame actresses for their broken marriages without knowing the real reasons.
“People think actresses can’t keep a marriage because they like comfort or fame,” she said. “But the truth is deeper.”
Fati added that many men marry actresses just for fun or fame. Once they get what they want, they leave.
Mansura Accepts Her Fate
Even though the experience was painful, Mansura said she has now accepted her fate. She believes everything happens for a reason.
“I married because I loved him,” she said. “But love truly is blind. I now know better.”
