Nigerian Superstar Dismisses Absurd Claims in Podcast Appearance

Nigerian singer Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, recently opened up about an outrageous rumour circulating online.

During a lively episode of the ‘Kids Take Over’ podcast, Rema revealed that being labelled a “devil worshiper” has been the most bizarre misinformation he has encountered about himself. 

When asked by the host about the craziest and most untrue thing people have said about him, Rema chuckled and quipped, “They say I worship the devil [laughs]. It’s crazy.”

He went on to explain that he chose not to respond to such allegations, stating, “It is not important. It’s a waste of time.” 

This bold dismissal signifies Rema’s confidence and highlights the challenges public figures face when it comes to managing their image in a world dominated by social media.

He clarified that the symbols and themes he employs in his artistry are rooted in Edo culture, emphasising that they are far from being satanic. 

Reflecting on Collaborations and Future Success 

In the same podcast episode, Rema also reflected on his musical journey, including his collaboration with Canadian superstar Drake in 2020 for the song ‘Mention Me,’ which unfortunately leaked.

The excitement in his voice was palpable as he spoke about the opportunity to work with a global icon. “I’m happy to work with a legend like Drake. I feel like we are going to make a very huge song if we take our time to build something very strong,” he said, hinting at the powerful collaboration that fans can expect in the future.
