Twin Housemates Speak Out
In a recent diary session on BBNaija Season 9, twin housemates Wanni and Handi, known as the “No Loose Guard” twins, opened up to Big Brother about their conflict with their fellow contestant, Rhuthee.
The situation reached a boiling point just a day before Rhuthee’s eviction when she made a series of damaging allegations against the twins.
These included rumours that the twins were involved in inappropriate relationships for financial gain.
The eviction of Rhuthee has brought a sense of relief to Wanni and Handi, who openly celebrated her departure.
During their diary session, the twins expressed their happiness and regarded the eviction as a divine intervention. “We were very happy. It was the best eviction of the season for me. They had to go. The major negative energy they brought to the house, especially Rhuthee, was too much,” they said.
Life with Trolls
Wanni and Handi shared their long history of dealing with insults and negative comments from trolls, both online and in real life.
They mentioned that Rhuthee seemed to have preconceived ideas about them even before entering the house, which made her allegations particularly hurtful.
The twins revealed that they were taken aback when the show’s host, Ebuka, exposed Rhuthee’s thoughts about them.
“Biggie, my sister and I have lived all our lives getting trolled from childhood to adulthood. We’ve been trolled our entire lives before coming into the house,” the twins explained.
“We are international DJs and we get trolled on a regular basis. But meeting a real-life troll like Rhuthee was a shock. She tried to defame us on national TV for no reason.”
The twins reiterated their feelings that Rhuthee’s eviction was justified and a timely answer to their troubles, using their Custodian power to influence her departure.
“She played herself. If you play with fire, you’d get burnt, and she got burnt to ashes. Even if we leave here this Sunday, I am so glad that she got sniped by us,” they said.
Reflecting on their time in the entertainment industry, Wanni and Handi discussed the challenges they have faced, including depression and financial hardships.
They highlighted the importance of supporting fellow women, expressing disappointment that Rhuthee attempted to tarnish their success with baseless accusations.
“In this industry, I know they say ‘women supporting women’ a lot but a lot of women are intimidated by other women and try to bring them down. We’ve hustled and suffered so hard for almost a decade. Now that the sun is shining on our paths, somebody is coming to tie my success to sleeping around? No, it can’t work like that,” they concluded.
The incident serves as a reminder of the intense pressures and interpersonal conflicts that can arise in reality TV settings, as well as the importance of resilience and self-advocacy in the face of undue criticism.
