Singer Kehlani and her ex, Javaughn Young-White, have been mandated to attend mediation to work on their custody and visitation issues.
The court’s decision aims to help both parents create a mutually agreeable parenting plan for their 5-year-old daughter, Adeya Nomi.
Javaughn’s Court filing
Javaughn recently filed a paternity petition, seeking full custody of Adeya. In documents obtained by TMZ, Javaughn expressed his concerns about Kehlani’s current lifestyle and its influence on their daughter.
He believes Kehlani has been involved with a cult for the past few years, affecting her parenting style and decisions. This cult, according to Javaughn, poses significant risks, especially considering its leader allegedly has multiple accusations of sexual assault.
Serious Allegations and Concerns
Javaughn claims that the cult leader has such control over Kehlani that it has led her to perceive him as a potential danger to Adeya.
Consequently, he argues, Kehlani has been preventing him from seeing their daughter. Additionally, Javaughn asserts that Kehlani’s busy touring schedule and her current living environment are not suitable settings for raising Adeya.
Kehlani and Javaughn’s relationship began in 2019 when they welcomed their daughter but ended the following year.
Despite their split, Kehlani’s fans have seen Adeya frequently featured on her Instagram and even in the music video for the song “Little Story.”
The ongoing custody battle underscores the challenges both parents face as they navigate co-parenting while addressing serious allegations and differing lifestyles.
The court-ordered mediation will provide a neutral ground for them to discuss and ideally resolve these issues, focusing on what’s best for Adeya’s well-being.
