Nigerian highlife singer Chinedu Okoli, popularly known by his stage name Flavour, has revealed the challenges he faced in convincing Regina Daniels’ husband, Ned Nwoko, to allow the actress to appear in the music video for his song “Her Excellency (Nwunye Odogwu).”
In a recent interview, Flavour discussed the process of getting the popular Nollywood actress on board for the video shoot. According to the singer, he had to go through numerous negotiations and assurances before Nwoko, a prominent businessman and politician, would agree to release Regina for the project.
Flavour disclosed that Nwoko was initially hesitant, as he believed the video would involve intimate scenes between the singer and his wife, such as touching her bre*sts and butt*cks. The singer had to reassure Nwoko that the video was focused on themes of loyalty and tradition, with no inappropriate content.
“Before I could star Regina Daniels in my new music video, I had to go through numerous procedures that included convincing her husband, Ned Nwoko,” Flavour said. “This was because he thought I was going to press her bre*sts and butt*cks, but little did he know that it was a song about majesty and not a pornographic scene. It was difficult to convince her man.”
Flavour emphasized the importance of having the right approach and building trust with Nwoko to secure Regina’s participation. The singer had to carefully explain the artistic vision and underlying message of the “Her Excellency (Nwunye Odogwu)” music video to allay Nwoko’s concerns.
The music video, which was released a few days ago, features an eye-catching cameo from Regina Daniels, showcasing the actress’s talent and presence. Flavour’s ability to navigate the delicate negotiations with Nwoko has been widely praised, as it allowed him to collaborate with one of Nigeria’s most prominent Nollywood stars for the visual representation of his song.
